MRI Technologist

Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 9 weeks (61 days)

Job Summary

Operate and prepare specialized MRI equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. Use technical judgment to obtain diagnostic-quality studies according to protocols and patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

Perform MRI imaging procedures and position patients and coils for optimal imaging.
Educate patients about the procedure, including the area to be imaged and any specific instructions.
Review patient safety questionnaires before introducing patients into the MRI scan room.
Ensure MRI images are properly labeled and technically acceptable; transmit images to PACS promptly.
Complete all studies in the Radiology Information System (IDX) in a timely manner.
Maintain cleanliness of radiology room and equipment at the start and end of shifts.
Manage supplies and accessories needed for safe operation.
Record patient tracking information and schedule exams in IDX.
Report equipment repairs or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel.
Assist physicians directly as needed and call for in-patients.
Perform related clerical duties when support personnel are absent.
Adhere strictly to safety guidelines to prevent ferromagnetic material introduction into the scan room.
Follow infection control policies to protect self, patients, and staff.
Attend in-services and professional development meetings as required.
Maintain licensure in good standing according to applicable public health regulations.

Required Qualifications

Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and MRI physics.
Excellent technical skills and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
Valid licensure as an MRI Technologist.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in MRI.

Wednesday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Thursday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Friday: 9:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Saturday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
