MRI Technologist I

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Staffing - Supplier Sourced
Contract Length: 14 weeks (97 days ≈ 14 weeks)
Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 7am-7pm


Job Summary

Entry-level position working under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor. Provides specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patients to assist medical staff in diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of conditions ranging from simple to complex.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centric care in various settings including acute inpatient, outpatient physician practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and remote outreach clinics.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical outcomes and operational goals.
  • Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures within scope of practice guidelines.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure documentation completeness and technical quality per department protocols and accreditation standards.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical data/findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform operator-level quality control, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and improve care.

Required Qualifications

  • Skill in cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and reliably report to work as scheduled.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
  • Accuracy in record-keeping and handling of names, numbers, and codes.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Understanding of operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative communication with staff, patients, and families.
  • High initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail.
  • Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology related to cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies.
  • Ability to apply core-level specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation with general supervision.

Experience

  • Entry-level position; no specific years of prior specialty experience required.
  • No prior travel experience required.

Licensure

  • Must hold appropriate licensure or certification as required for MRI Technologist in the state of Oklahoma.
