Job Summary

The X-Ray Technician operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Responsible for patient preparation, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Establish rapport with patients to understand service requirements and reduce anxieties.
• Prepare patients for procedures by positioning and adjusting equipment controls.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
• Follow infection control policies and procedures.
• Ensure quality radiographs by adhering to standards and making necessary adjustments.
• Document patient care services in records and verify completed exams.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain inventory of radiology supplies and anticipate needs.
• Comply with safety regulations to ensure a clean working environment.
• Stay updated on professional knowledge through CME requirements, workshops, and publications.
• Complete yearly Age-Specific Competency.
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• New York State Department of Health Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.
