Description

Nurse Supervisor

Location: Bronx, New York
Employment Type: Acute - Nursing
Shift: Associate DON for Behavioral Health Department CPEP/Inpatient/Outpatient
Hours: 7 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Plan and develop programs to improve patient care and employee performance.
Monitor patient care performance and assess units with nurse managers.
Communicate and assist with corrective actions as needed.
Develop record-keeping systems to track medication errors and counseling.

Required Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 1 year of Med Surg experience within the last year.
Experience in supervisory roles.
Experience in psychiatric/behavioral and behavioral health settings.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure & Certifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York with primary source verification from the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Nursing.

Relevant Skills

Psychiatric/Behavioral health knowledge.
Patient care and employee performance improvement.
Performance monitoring and corrective action implementation.
Record-keeping, medication error tracking, and counseling.
