<h2>Job Summary</h2><p>The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced-level respiratory care to patients, diagnosing, evaluating, treating, managing, and controlling cardiopulmonary deficiencies or abnormalities as prescribed by a physician. This role also serves as a resource for CRT staff and may handle special clinical projects or assignments as needed.</p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic testing procedures, including obtaining arterial gases and troubleshooting equipment.</li><li>Administer medications safely and evaluate their effects according to protocol.</li><li>Communicate patient progress with staff, physicians, and other departments.</li><li>Educate patients and families on health promotion, wellness, and self-care techniques.</li><li>Complete accurate documentation and monitor supplies and equipment.</li><li>Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and potential safety hazards.</li><li>Act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to staff and patient care areas.</li><li>Contribute to quality improvement and research activities to enhance patient care standards.</li><li>Float to other departments as needed and participate in on-call duties during scheduled shifts.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul><h2>Required Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Graduate of an NBRC-approved Respiratory Therapist program from an accredited institution.</li><li>Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).</li><li>Current license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>None specified.</li></ul><br /><strong>QUALIFICATION/LICENSURE</strong><br /><strong>Work Authorization :</strong> US Citizen<br /><strong>Preferred years of experience :</strong> 2 years<br /><strong>Travel required :</strong> No travel required<br /><strong>Shift timings :</strong> Night
