Description

Job Title: Radiographer I

Required: Overnight Shift  (3 nights per week)  Friday, Saturday, Sunday 1830-0700  with 1 shift of call per month.

Required: Proficient in Surgery as well as Xray.  Need you to be able to float to the OR during the nightshift due to no full time staff in surgery on nights. 

Proficient with C-arms, comfortable communicating with surgeons. O-arm experience is a plus.  We will train you.

Floating to surgery happens about 1 shift a week for emergent cases. Otherwise you are in the department or ER doing portable and room xrays.

Job Summary: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, utilizing specialized equipment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining high standards of patient care and safety. The position also requires proficiency in surgery and X-ray, with the ability to float to the OR during night shifts for emergent cases.

Required Qualifications:

  • Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and patient positioning.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and report to work consistently and dependably.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes.
  • Sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, as well as cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies.
  • Proficiency with C-arms and comfort in communicating with surgeons; O-arm experience is a plus (training provided).


Required Education:

  • Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty.
  • OR Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.


Preferred Education:

  • Associate’s degree or higher.


Required Certifications & Licensure:

  • Eligibility requirements and published standards for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty (must be achieved within 12 months of hire).
  • AHA BLS certification.
