Description

X-Ray Technician - Contract

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Contract
Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Operate radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images. Prepare patients for radiological procedures while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Establish rapport with patients to understand and meet service requirements, reducing anxiety through explanations and answering questions.
Position patients and adjust equipment for radiological procedures.
Apply radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
Maintain quality and production standards of radiographs, including processing and adjustments.
Document patient care and exam completion in records.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on radiology equipment.
Manage radiology supplies inventory.
Ensure a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional activities.
Complete yearly Age Specific Competency assessments.

Required Qualifications

Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technician, including experience within the last year
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Proven experience as an X-Ray Technician with competency in diagnostic procedures

Additional Information

No prior travel experience required.
