Job Summary:
Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Responsibilities include assuming care for an assigned group of patients, documenting patient responses to interventions and treatments, assisting physicians with examinations and minor procedures, monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and interacting with patients and families to share care plans and hospital procedures. Additional duties include delegating tasks to support staff and making referrals to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications:
- One year of experience.
- Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program.
Additional Information:
- Performs other duties as assigned.
