Job Summary:
Under the supervision of nursing staff, the Clinical Technician is responsible for monitoring and providing direct care to patients undergoing hemodialysis. This role involves ongoing patient monitoring, communication with the care team, and functioning as part of an interdisciplinary team. The technician ensures adherence to infection control policies, maintains a safe work environment, and demonstrates technical skills such as cannulation and machine setup. The position also requires responding to emergencies, reinforcing patient education, and documenting care.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Dialysis clinical technician certification required (must be obtained within 18 months of hire if not already certified).
• Certification must be maintained per federal regulations and CMS-approved certification programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in science.
• Previous dialysis experience.

Additional Information:

• Must adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
• Ability to lift and push patients, carry dialysate solution containers, and respond to audible alarms.
• Must pass a color vision test.
• Demonstrates a caring and compassionate manner toward patients and their families.
• Completes required in-services and online education.
• Adheres to confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
• Works effectively in a complex and changing environment.
