Job Summary:
Performs various duties as a member of the surgical team to ensure a safe and successful operative procedure. This position functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and directly reports to Surgical Services management. The Surgery Tech supports system-wide and surgical operations initiatives and practices. Additionally, this role actively participates in the surgical operations safety plan as outlined.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to maintain a sterile field and ensure environmental safety.
• Knowledge of surgical services and sterile processing.
• Ability to recognize and address sharps and fire safety processes.
• Experience in surgeries support within the surgical team.
• Experience in life support situations related to surgical care.
• Experience in sterile field management and sterilization processes.
• Experience in supervision within surgical services (within ORT scope).

Required Education:

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program.
• Graduated from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six (6) months (not eligible for Tech in Surgery exam).
• Two (2) years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three (3) years.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.

Preferred Certifications & Licensure:

• Active National Certification as an ORT in Surgery.
• Certified Surgical Technologist.
