Job Summary: The Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool) is dedicated to the Nursing Professional Practice Model, emphasizing caring relationships with patients, families, the community, and colleagues to deliver exceptional care. Nurses in this unit provide specialized medical and nursing care across various inpatient units, including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab. The unit is fast-paced, dynamic, and utilizes the latest technology and equipment to treat a wide range of medical diagnoses, such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, strokes, cancer, and post-surgical care.

Required Qualifications:

• Ability to float to multiple units and provide care to diverse patient populations.
• Experience managing care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
• Proficiency in developing, implementing, and modifying patient care plans.
• Skill in medication administration and evaluating medication effects.
• Experience preparing patients for procedures and managing post-operative care.
• Proficiency in IV venipuncture and blood administration.
• Ability to document care accurately using EMR.
• Experience educating patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and assist in professional development of peers.
• Strong conflict management and professional communication skills.
• Critical thinking skills to assess patient status and take appropriate action.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members.
• Commitment to patient safety and adherence to safety standards, including fall precautions and pressure ulcer prevention.
• Experience completing patient bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintaining updated patient communication boards.
• Ability to delegate tasks appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks.
