Job Title: CVOR Tech
Location: Not specified
Job Summary:
Performs scrub duties and maintains sterile supplies and sterile technique. Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients. Assembles, organizes, and completes case carts according to doctor’s preference lists. Provides appropriate instrumentation, suture, and all supplies as requested and maintains a sterile environment. May assist the surgeon by passing instruments during cases. Counts sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy. Assists in maintenance and care of specimens and prepares them for laboratory analysis. Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice. Assists with timely turnover of rooms, including cleanup, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment. Cares for instruments and equipment. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business needs. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Required Qualifications:
- Regular attendance to perform work on-site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required for identified positions.
- Two (2) years of Surgical Tech experience, including one (1) year of CVOR scrubbing experience.
- Must have at least one (1) year of CV experience as a Surgical Tech.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program (training in the US military may substitute for formal surgical technologist training).
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- BLS - American Heart Association.
