Job Summary: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The role aids medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, utilizing specialized equipment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining accurate records. The position also involves performing quality control checks, participating in professional development, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty as defined by the ARDMS.
- Must meet applicant eligibility requirements and published standards for ARDMS in the cardiovascular or radiologic technology specialty required by the hiring department.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher.
Additional Information:
- Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies, and associated terminology.
- Ability to apply primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation with general supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, exercise discretion with confidential information, and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Must display initiative, effort, and commitment to completing assignments efficiently.
