Job Title: Sonographer Cardiovascular
Location: Not specified
Job Summary:
Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures utilizing high-frequency sound waves to evaluate internal organs and vessels for disease diagnosis. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, obtaining informed consent, reviewing patient history, selecting appropriate protocols, and positioning patients. The role involves assessing patient status, performing diagnostic tests, ensuring quality images, and coordinating documentation for physician review. Additional duties include maintaining equipment, stocking supplies, transporting patients, and participating in quality initiatives. Promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adheres to service behavior standards.
Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT-S) or ARDMS registry (must obtain within 18 months of hire)
• RDCS - Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or RCS - Registered Cardiac Sonographer
• BLS - American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree
Additional Information:
• Actively participates in quality initiatives, including patient satisfaction, care, and workflow
• Ensures safe and effective handoff between shifts
• Monitors equipment reliability and reports issues
• Performs other duties as assigned
