Telemetry Technician

Job Summary:
Provide advanced ECG monitoring while assessing patient status through ECG strip analysis and arrhythmia interpretation. Identify and respond to potentially life-threatening rhythm changes, initiate codes, record rhythms during codes, perform continuous EKG monitoring with accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, troubleshoot monitoring problems, and appropriately respond to all monitor alarms.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the Red Cross (valid for one year)
- Completion of Dysrhythmia Course

Additional Information:
- Perform electrocardiograms with proper electrode placement
- Communicate effectively with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians
- Enter and verify orders in the computer system
- Retrieve and report laboratory results to charge nurses
- Ensure documentation meets current standards and organizational policies
- Safely manage and operate monitoring and medical equipment
