Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Occupational Therapist performs professional activities including planning, evaluating, establishing, and implementing individual and group treatment activities under the direction of a physician. Responsibilities include interpreting physician referrals, evaluating patients in various skill areas, developing treatment plans, assisting patients with adaptive equipment, informing patients and families of progress, and aiding in discharge planning. The role may also involve supervising students.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as an Occupational Therapist
• Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Knowledge of principles and practices of professional occupational therapy
• Skill in organizing and instructing therapy activities
• Ability to interpret prescriptions related to therapy
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
• Ability to communicate instructions and technical information to patients
• Basic computer skills
