Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technologist provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. Responsibilities include ensuring proper patient identification, performing exams per department protocol, reviewing images for quality and accuracy, and maintaining documentation. The role also involves assisting students and other Radiology Technologists, providing patient education, practicing infection control, and operating imaging equipment effectively.
Required Qualifications:
- One (1) or more years of experience.
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies.
- Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Ability to use computers and perform typing for documentation and accessing information.
- Ability to lift, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items.
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting or ambulating patients.
- Ability to push and pull equipment such as gurneys and portable devices.
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy environments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Education:
- Completion of college-level finance and/or accounting course.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Health Services\BCLS - Basic Life Support (Certification for Healthcare Providers).
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast Specialty (RDMS (BR)) from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
- Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with successful completion of one registry pertinent to the department beyond physics (options include OB, abdominal, neuro, breast, pediatric, and vascular).
