Job Title: Cardiac EP Technician
Location: Not specified
Job Summary:
The Cardiac EP Technician is responsible for assisting with all procedures performed in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab. This role requires proficiency in the use of EP monitoring/stimulation systems, intracardiac echo, and 3D mapping systems. The technician must demonstrate expertise in sterile techniques and assist physicians with the implantation of permanent pacemakers, ICDs, and Bi-V-ICDs. A strong understanding of cardiac arrhythmias, invasive EP procedures, and the operation of X-ray systems is essential. Additional responsibilities include maintaining lab cleanliness, restocking supplies, and ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
• ARRT certification (if Radiology Technician)
• RN license in South Carolina or a compact/multi-state license (if Registered Nurse)
• BLS (AHA) certification
• Graduate from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with one year of EP experience; OR
• Graduate from an accredited school or college of nursing (BSN preferred) with one year of EP experience; OR
• High school graduate with two years of EP lab experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• RCIS or RCES credential
Additional Information:
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of patients
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious materials
• May require on-call duties, weekend, or holiday work based on department needs
• Must demonstrate professional behavior and effective communication with physicians, staff, and patients
• Ability to work under stressful conditions and meet deadlines
