Job Summary:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide comprehensive respiratory care under the guidance of a qualified physician and the Director of Respiratory Therapy. Responsibilities include administering oxygen, managing ventilators and CPAP devices, assisting with intubation, performing airway maintenance, and delivering life support procedures. The RRT will also administer respiratory medications, perform pulmonary function testing, and conduct 12-lead EKGs. This role requires sensitivity to age-specific patient needs and the ability to work independently or supervise others as needed.

Required Qualifications:
• 1+ years of experience in respiratory therapy, ventilator management, electrocardiogram, oxygen administration, and airway management
• Basic knowledge of pulmonary and cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or Certificate in Respiratory Therapy
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• PALS (American Heart Association)
• NRP (American Heart Association)
• Illinois RCP license
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist

Additional Information:
• The RRT must be capable of dismantling and reassembling respiratory equipment, ensuring safe handling practices, and adapting clinical approaches to meet patient-specific needs. The role also involves performing arterial punctures, arterial line draws, and setting up BiPap and Opiflow devices while evaluating patient responses to therapy.
