Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources, aligning with the institution's philosophy. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring safety and effective communication within the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, comprehension, and speaking)
• Basic computer knowledge (word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsing)
• Multicultural sensitivity
• Critical thinking skills and independent judgment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Not applicable
Required Education:
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
Preferred Education:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Certifications & Licensure:
• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)

Additional Information:
• Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs per Carle policy
• Maintain documentation standards as evidenced by quarterly chart audits
• Attend at least 5 out of 6 staff meetings annually
• Identify and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Fulfill departmental competencies and participate in professional development
