Job Summary:
Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations for the purpose of aiding medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases.
Required Qualifications:
• Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, positioning of patients, and medical ethics.
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Sensitivity to patients’ physical and psychological needs.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes.
• Ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
• Discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment.
• Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
• Understanding of various operations, policies, and procedures.
• Professional, polite, courteous, compassionate, and cooperative communication skills.
• High level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology.
• Skill to apply core-level primary specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation.
Required Education:
• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty.
OR
• Graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
• Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for CT Certification (ARRT) and achieve certification within 12 months of hire date.
• AHA BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree or higher.
