Job Summary:
Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The role involves evaluating health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data, performing health teaching and counseling, and providing therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being. Additional duties include executing delegated medical functions, referring patients for further evaluation or treatment, reviewing and monitoring therapy and treatment plans, and documenting in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. The RN promotes the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health and adheres to service behavior standards. Floating to other departments and being placed on-call during scheduled shifts may be required.
Required Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN)
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS/NRP/PALS certifications as appropriate for unit or service
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Certification as appropriate for unit or service
