Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is provided using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy. The RN ensures patient safety, effective communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration while maintaining a positive work environment.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
- ASN degree
- Illinois state RN License in good standing
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN degree

Additional Information:
- Provides competent care for patients with mild to severe brain injuries due to stroke, trauma, or surgery
- Identifies and responds immediately to neurological changes and/or seizure activity
- Maintains compliance with safety measures such as fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and patient ambulation safety
- Uses critical thinking and nursing judgment to evaluate patient conditions and act on changes in status
- Ensures prompt answering of patient call lights to address medical needs effectively
- Delegates tasks to healthcare team members and validates completion
- Meets Carle Med/Surg RN documentation standards
- Administers medications following the 5 Rights: Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Route, Right Dose, and Right Time
