Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy. This role involves patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring safety and effective communication within the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- Illinois state RN License in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Additional Information:
- The RN will provide competent care for patients with mild to severe brain injuries due to stroke, trauma, or surgery.
- Must be able to identify and respond immediately to neurological changes and/or seizure activity.
- Maintains patient safety as the highest priority, ensuring compliance with safety measures such as fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety.
- Uses critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions and acts on changes in patient status.
- Promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and effective patient care coordination.
