Sonographer
Job Summary
Prepares patients for examination with a focus on comfort and satisfaction. Explains procedures in simple terms, performs ultrasound procedures, and monitors patients throughout the process. Sets up equipment efficiently, reviews prior reports and images, ensures proper imaging techniques, and maintains accurate records. Responsible for inventory control and supply purchases for the assigned area. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced Sonographer capable of performing high-quality Adult Echo studies as per ASE & IAC Guidelines in a premiere cardiac center.
- Dedicated inpatient echo work experience with a minimum of 200 documented inpatient cases in echocardiography.
- Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills.
- Experience with contrast echocardiography and agitated saline studies.
- Ability to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond quickly to critical findings.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA.
Preferred Qualifications
- TEE and Stress Echo experience.
- Familiarity with 3D echo imaging.
- Experience with TAVR, Mitral Clip, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols.
- Maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards.
- Experience using Philips ie33 and Epiq systems.
- Familiarity with Epic hospital information system.
- Graduate of CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred.
Additional Information
Techs must have TAVR TTE experience scanning pre-TAVR treatment patients with critical aortic stenosis. This experience must be reflected on their resume. The department requires highly experienced professionals, preferably those who have worked for a valve center or structural heart facility.
