Job Summary:
Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data, performs health teaching and counseling, and provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being. Duties may include direct patient care or indirect care through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching. The RN executes delegated medical functions, refers patients for further evaluation or treatment, reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans, and documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Additional responsibilities include promoting the mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, adhering to service behavior standards, and performing other duties as assigned. The RN may be required to float to other departments within their scope of competency and qualifications based on business needs and may also be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
Required Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN).
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS certifications as appropriate for unit or service.
• TNCC certification.
• 1-2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Certification as appropriate for unit or service.
