Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Paducah, Kentucky
Job Summary:
The certified respiratory therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients with respiratory diseases and conditions. This includes the delivery of medicated and non-medicated therapy as ordered by the provider. Additionally, therapists provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilator support for acute respiratory failure. As part of patient assessment and management, the therapist performs diagnostic test procedures. Therapists also assist in departmental operations by contributing to quality improvement projects, equipment, and supplies. The certified therapist follows all applicable rules and regulations established by the licensure board depending on the state in which respiratory therapy is practiced.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in respiratory care.
- Mandatory certification in respiratory therapy (Kentucky Board of Respiratory Care) or respiratory license (Kentucky Professional Licensing Agency) appropriate for facility location.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification (except for candidates in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) as determined by the hiring manager).
- NRP certification (required for candidates working with Neonatal population; not required for candidates in Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) as determined by the hiring manager).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in respiratory care.
- Healthcare or customer service experience.
- Limited permit/student respiratory license experience.
