Description
Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist
Location: Louisville, KY
Job Summary:
Performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing according to CLIA ‘88 guidelines; interprets and reports results for established tests and examinations in at least one of the following fields within the clinical laboratory: Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank, and Microbiology. Comprehends the theories and concepts for each procedure, utilizes independent thinking and communication skills to confer these concepts to physicians and other members of the hospital staff. Performs quality control, quality assurance, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Provides oversight of clinical processes for Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Aides. Duties may also include clerical tasks and related laboratory services.
Required Qualifications:
• No experience required.

Required Education:
• Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution; meeting requirements under 42 CFR §493.1423 and §493.1489.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
• MLS(ASCP) or MLS(AMT).
