Surgical Tech

Job Summary
Assist the surgical team members by functioning as a scrub and/or circulating assistant during surgical procedures under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the unit. Contribute to the smooth flow and rapid turnover of surgical cases by transporting patients, setting up the surgical back table, mobilizing and pre-testing surgical equipment, and participating in room clean-up as needed. Maintain a safe work environment and take call for after-hour emergency procedures.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of one (1) year clinical experience as a Surgical Technician in a surgery center.
• Epic experience: Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months within the past year.
• Scrub skills for General Gyn and GU surgery.
• Completion of Surgical Scrub Tech program.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience scrubbing.
• Minimum two (2) years of travel experience.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status as per American Heart Association standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an acute care hospital operating room.
• Ortho scrub skills.
• CORT credential.
• Zimmer System experience.
• Graduate of an approved surgical technician training program.

Additional Information

• Must be able to scrub ortho, neuro, and robotics.
• Heavy focus on orthopedics, neurosurgery, and endovascular cases, including major neuro and major ortho procedures such as spinal fusions, craniotomies, total knees, total hips, and fractures.
• Facility performs open hearts, TAVRS, eyes, gyn, general, ENT, thoracic, vascular, endovascular, and plastics procedures.
