Description

Surgical Reprocessing Technician

Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Coordinator/Manager/Director, the Surgical Reprocessing Technician is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, packaging, disinfecting, and sterilizing all surgical products used to support physicians and surgical teams across various departments, including inpatient, outpatient, Operating Room, Emergency Room, Delivery Room, and satellite locations. The technician documents and monitors all sterilization processes, ensuring compliance with standards for methods such as steam, ETOH, Sterrad, and high-level disinfectants. Additional responsibilities include maintaining sterile supply management principles, preparing procedure-specific case carts, and coordinating supplies according to surgeon preference cards.

Required Qualifications
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and hospital personnel.
  • Computer skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of a medical terminology course.

Required Certification & Licensure
  • Central Service Certification.

Preferred Certification & Licensure
  • BLS certification.
