Job Summary:
The Leader - Surgical Reprocessing Technician is responsible for leading, managing, developing, supervising, and evaluating all aspects of the Materials Management Department. This includes ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures, assisting in hiring, training, evaluating, and disciplining personnel, and managing relationships with Surgical Services leadership members and physicians. The role involves facilitating staff empowerment, implementing innovative materials delivery models, and fostering a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach to improve patient care services.

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma
• Central Service Certification
• One year of experience in a Central Service environment
• Visual ability for inspecting instruments, reading requisitions, and instrument checklists
• Ability to work harmoniously with others under stressful conditions

Preferred Qualifications:
• Completion of a medical terminology course

Additional Information:
• Extensive walking and standing required
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and push heavy carts over long distances
• Exposure to noisy equipment, aerosols, chemical detergents, needles, blades, sharp instruments, body fluids, tissues, ethylene oxide, wet floors, steam, and hot/humid environments
• Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors as outlined in HFHS’ Customer Service Policy
• Must possess personal qualities such as self-direction, flexibility, teamwork, initiative, willingness to learn, openness to new experiences, and respect for diversity
