Required: One year of travel experience is preferred but will consider six months’ travel

Surgical Technician

Job Summary
Under immediate to general supervision, the Surgical Technician provides technical assistance in the capacity of a surgical (scrub) technician in an operating room, labor and delivery, or other facility performing surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile techniques, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring the proper handling of surgical instruments and specimens.

Required Qualifications
 

• Graduation from an accredited school/program for Surgical Technicians.
• Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications
 

• Knowledge of basic human anatomy and first-aid methods.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients across the lifespan, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric groups.

Additional Information
 

• Responsibilities include preparing sterile fields, assisting in surgical procedures, maintaining sterile techniques, and cleaning/sterilizing instruments and equipment.
• May assist in training other surgical technicians.
• If assigned to the Labor and Delivery unit, may perform clerical and direct patient care activities.
