Job Summary:
As a Pharmacy Tech, you will play a critical role in supporting pharmacists and ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy. Responsibilities include filling orders accurately, preparing extemporaneous preparations, stocking areas, handling distribution and returns, preparing sterile IVs, managing automated dispensing machines, repackaging medications, and participating in performance improvement initiatives. You will also assist in maintaining inventory control and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Current active registration with the State of New Jersey Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous hospital pharmacy experience (2+ years)
- Previous oncology/infusion center experience
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
Additional Information:
- Strong knowledge of IV equipment, sterile technique, total parenteral nutrition, and safe handling of hazardous drugs is essential
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills are required
