Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor, the Radiology Technician assists in performing complex radiology examinations using specialized techniques and equipment. Responsibilities include taking routine radiographs for medical and surgical diagnosis and treatment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high standards of care. The role requires the ability to work effectively without direct supervision and includes tasks such as preparing examination rooms, educating students and healthcare providers, and applying principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure.

Required Qualifications:

• One (1) year of experience as a Radiological Technologist.
• Knowledge of modern radiology equipment and techniques, human anatomy and physiology, and occupational safety precautions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to administer emergency first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Maintain records and files with strict confidentiality.
• Deal tactfully and professionally with patients, physicians, and staff.
• Meet all health requirements designated by Kern Medical Center.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ARRT-Radiography (R) certification.

Required Education:

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited two-year program in Radiologic Technology approved by the Joint Commission on Education.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License.
• California Fluoroscopy Permit.
