Required: One year of travel experience is preferred but will consider six months’ travel

Job Title: Level II Histology Technologist
Location: OU Health Histology Laboratory
Job Summary:
Under general direction, performs routine and advanced professional and technical work for the OU Health Histology Laboratory. Responsibilities include receiving tissue specimens, ensuring proper labeling and fixation, assisting pathologists in gross dissection, processing sections for microscopic examination, embedding and sectioning tissue, performing routine and special staining techniques, and participating in quality assurance and statistical data gathering.
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of all aspects of the histology lab, including tissue processing, microtomy, special staining procedures, and immunohistochemistry.
- Ability to work with precision and care to ensure accuracy and efficiency under pressure.
- Ability to establish rigid controls to ensure proper identification of specimens.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of related work experience.
Required Education:
- Associate's degree in Histology or Natural Sciences.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- MLT, MT, HTL, or HT certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
