Required: One year of travel experience is preferred but will consider six months’ travel

Job Title: Surgical Technologist

Job Summary:
Under immediate to general supervision, the Surgical Technician provides technical assistance in an operating room, labor and delivery, or other facility performing surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile techniques, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring the proper handling of surgical instruments and specimens.

Required Qualifications:
 

• Graduation from an accredited school/program for Surgical Technicians.
• Current Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• Knowledge of basic human anatomy and first-aid methods.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan.

Additional Information:
 

• Responsibilities include preparing sterile fields, assisting in operative field preparation, and ensuring proper equipment functionality.
• Participation in sponge, needle, and instrument counts as directed by the circulating nurse.
• Cleaning and sterilizing contaminated instruments and operating room areas.
• Assisting in the training of surgical technicians.
