Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
Location: Not specified
Job Summary: The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II is responsible for demonstrating a thorough understanding of cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology. This role includes assisting with the orientation and training of Cath Lab staff, participating in special projects, and adhering to medical ethics principles. The candidate will monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures, recognize and respond to lethal arrhythmias using ACLS standards, and identify coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections. Additional responsibilities include calculating hemodynamic parameters, performing cardiac outputs, O2 saturations, and ACT measurements, and monitoring percutaneous interventions. The role requires knowledge of cardiac medications, clinical laboratory values, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and various cardiac procedures and devices.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Allied Health Sciences (e.g., Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Science, or Cardiac/Vascular Sonography).
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Radiology Technologist (ARRT) with Cardiac Interventional (CI) or Vascular Interventional (VI).
- Valid BCLS certification required.
- ACLS certification required within six (6) months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cardiac catheterization procedures and monitoring.
- Knowledge of thrombolytic therapy for Acute MI and intravascular ultrasound technologies.
- Ability to scrub in a sterile environment for extended periods.
- Physical ability to lift and transfer patients with team assistance.
