Description
Job Title: RN-MS/TELE
Location: Kern Medical Center, California
Job Summary: Under the supervision of a nurse leader, the RN-MS/TELE independently prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients. The role involves performing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care. The scope of practice aligns with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, ANA Code of Ethics, and California Nurse Practice Act.
The RN-MS/TELE creates a compassionate environment, builds trusting relationships with patients and families, and mobilizes patient strengths toward healing. Responsibilities include data collection, assessment, care planning, implementation of medical and nursing orders, and evaluation of care effectiveness. The role requires rapid response to changing patient conditions, adherence to infection control policies, and collaboration within the healthcare team. Participation in professional development activities and compliance with hospital policies are essential.
Required Qualifications:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Valid and unrestricted State of California Registered Nurse License (RN License).
• NIHSS certification.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) card.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) card.
• Compliance with all health requirements designated by Kern Medical Center.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited registered nursing program with a bachelor’s or associate degree.
Additional Information:
• Knowledge of advanced nursing theory, techniques, and practices.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, instruments, equipment, and the effects of medicines and narcotics.
• Depending on assignment, incumbents may be required to possess and maintain specific certificates of competency as a condition of employment.
