Description

Job Title: SPD Tech 2 - Night

Job Summary:

The Sterile Processing Distribution (SPD) Technician is responsible for decontaminating, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, packaging, and sterilizing instrumentation for surgical cases, clinics, and nursing units. The technician follows protocols to ensure equipment and instrumentation processing meets standards for AAMI and organizational Infection Control guidelines. Additionally, the role involves providing both disposable and reusable equipment to the Operating Room and dispensing disposable supplies utilized in OR cases.

Required Qualifications:

Basic computer skills
Understanding of basic medical terminology
Ability to perform detail-oriented work repetitiously for long periods of time
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to respond to STAT and ASAP customer needs
Ability to perform tasks with minimal error
Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently

Required Education:

High school diploma or GED

Required Certifications & Licensure:

CRCST or CSPDT
