Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU Float Pool provides direct and indirect safe, therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients. Care is individualized and age-specific, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The RN collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare team members to achieve holistic and individualized goals. Responsibilities include promoting quality outcomes, serving as a patient advocate, and ensuring excellent and satisfying care.

Required Qualifications:

• Active CA RN license
• CPR certification
• ACLS certification
• NIH certification
• At least three years of recent RN experience
• At least two years of recent RN experience in a specialty area
• BSN or ADN required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ICU-specific procedures and equipment
• Proficiency in advanced monitoring techniques (e.g., ICP monitoring, pulmonary artery pressure monitoring)
• Knowledge of CAUTI/CLABSI/HAPI prevention strategies

Additional Information:

• Proficiency in various ICU procedures, including mechanical ventilation, medication administration, pain management, and therapeutic hypothermia
• Ability to perform specialized tasks such as CVAD/PICC/Midline dressing changes, blood product administration, and hemodialysis
• Strong communication skills to coordinate care with healthcare team members
