M-F varying shifts 7:00am-5pm, no weekends or call

Adult TTE, Inpatient and outpatient, Emergency, comprehensive understanding of cardiac hemodynamics, PISA quantification, strain, simple pediatric indications (murmur, bicuspid AV, etc., 5 years old and older). Experience in Definity, Optison and bubble studies (agitated saline).

Proficient in scanning cardiac abnormalities, quick learning, adaptable, correctly document findings, ability to scan a full echo and report in 75 minutes.

Job Summary:

Competently performs complete echocardiographic studies integrating all cardiac echo imaging modalities and procedures necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data. Documents patient data and echo exam information completely and accurately utilizing the Echo Information Management System and other necessary computer applications.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures.
• Associates degree or graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program.
• ARDMS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI-Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
• BLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One (1) year of cardiac experience preferred and registry eligible.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography, including transesophageal and stress echo.
• Experience with outreach services helpful.
• Comprehensive understanding of cardiac hemodynamics, PISA quantification, strain, and simple pediatric indications (e.g., murmur, bicuspid AV, etc., for patients 5 years old and older).
• Experience in Definity, Optison, and bubble studies (agitated saline).

Additional Information:

• Must demonstrate flexibility in learning all equipment, imaging specialties, and echocardiography procedures.
• Must understand sterile procedures and isolation precaution techniques.
• Must exercise proper precautions to avoid potential exposures to radiation, infectious hazards, and sharp instruments.
• Must be able to tolerate frequent walking, standing, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to reach above shoulder level and endure occasional twisting and turning.
• Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to hear at ordinary conversation level and possess good visual acuity.
• Available for 24-hour call within a 30-minute response time required.
• Expectations include stress lab and stress echo lab procedures, outreach, on-call practices, weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage as needed.
