Job Summary:
Under the supervision of nursing staff, the Clinical Technician is responsible for monitoring and providing direct care to patients undergoing hemodialysis. This role involves ongoing patient monitoring, communication with the interdisciplinary team, and adherence to infection control policies. The technician will also assist in emergency situations, reinforce patient education, and document care and observations. The position requires technical skills, such as cannulation and machine setup, and the ability to administer medications under supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Dialysis clinical technician certification required (must be obtained within 18 months of hire if not already certified).
- Certification must be maintained in accordance with federal regulations and CMS-approved programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in science.
- Previous dialysis experience.
Additional Information:
- Must demonstrate customer service values, including communication, ownership, and teamwork.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, and push patients and equipment.
- Must pass a color vision test and respond to audible alarms.
- Adherence to HIPAA and infection control policies is mandatory.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.
