Job Summary: This position operates and prepares specialized equipment to perform magnetic imaging procedures. The technologist applies technical judgment to obtain studies of acceptable diagnostic quality according to written protocols and patient needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in cross-sectional anatomy, physical sciences, and MRI physics.
• Excellent technical skills and knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology.
• Graduate of an AMA/J.C.E.R.T. approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• New York State License (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified).
• NY State License in Diagnostic Radiology.
• A.R.R.T. MRI registry.
• BCLS Certified.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years' experience in MRI.

Additional Information:

• Ensures MRI images are appropriately labeled and transmitted to PACS in a timely manner.
• Maintains safety standards to prevent the introduction of ferromagnetic material into the scan room.
• Adheres to infection control policies and protocols.
• Attends in-services and professional development meetings as required.
• Performs related clerical duties in the absence of support personnel.
• Informs supervisor or appropriate personnel of needed repairs to equipment or unsafe conditions.
