Required - 13 week assignment
Shifts are primarily 4, 10-hour night shifts Monday-Thursday from 8:00pm-6:30am. Transition to overnight weekend shifts (Fri-Sun) for last several weeks of contract.
Training is 7:30am-6:00pm.

Job Title: ULTRASOUND SONOGRAPHER - MCHS

Job Summary: Produces high-quality images for interpretation by physicians that meet the standards established by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Departments. Requires competence, as determined by competency assessments, in a variety of imaging equipment and technology.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited sonography or radiography program.
• Registry-eligible candidates must be ARDMS registered in either Vascular Technology (RVT) or RDMS (Abdominal or OB/GYN) within 6 months of employment (RVT preferred first) and both RVT and RDMS within 12 months of employment.
• Third certification (Abdominal or OB/GYN) completed within 18 months of employment.
• Employees providing breast imaging must obtain RDMS (Breast) certification within 24 months of achieved competency.
• Employees hired for vascular sonography roles, who are not eligible for Abdomen and OB/GYN certifications, are exempt from obtaining these registries.
• BLS certified.
• Organized, efficient, and multifunctional.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication.
• Ability to work varied hours, shift lengths, and respond to an on-call pager, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ultrasound Sonographer experience.

Additional Information:

• Experience needed: General, OB/GYN, basic vascular including arterial Doppler.
• Practices proper safety guidelines for themselves, support personnel, and patients.
• Fosters teamwork through effective communication.
• Ensures a high level of service to patients through proper communication, technique, and safety guidelines.
• Maintains flexibility to staff various work locations, shift times, and lengths.
• Performs other functional duties as assigned to ensure efficient and optimal patient care.
