Job Title: Ultrasound Tech CWR

Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound utilizing high-frequency sound waves to assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities. This role involves conducting diagnostic procedures, maintaining equipment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Required Qualifications:
• Must hold a BLS certification
• Knowledge of all ultrasound equipment, their function, and operation of each control
• Understanding of equipment and computer systems as well as the procedures for equipment service
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of safety, infection, and disaster policy and procedures, including implementation of patient care in cases of an emergency situation
• Maintains CEU credits
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1 year of clinical experience in ultrasound
• Breast ultrasound imaging and scanning techniques
• Breast anatomy and pathology knowledge
• Identification of benign and malignant breast findings
• Image optimization and quality assurance
• Breast lesion measurement and documentation
• Targeted breast ultrasound examinations
• Axillary ultrasound evaluation
• Ultrasound-guided breast biopsy assistance
• Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) procedure support
• Cyst aspiration procedure support
• Knowledge of BI-RADS® ultrasound descriptors
• Doppler ultrasound application
• Breast implant evaluation
• Equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting
• Infection prevention and sterile technique
• Patient positioning and comfort techniques
• EMR/Epic documentation
• PACS image management
• Digital image acquisition and archiving
• ACR and MQSA compliance (as applicable to breast imaging programs)
• Quality control and quality assurance documentation
• Radiation safety awareness (departmental workflow)
• Specimen handling and labeling (during biopsy procedures)
• Contrast-enhanced ultrasound knowledge (where applicable)
• CPR/BLS certification
• HIPAA compliance
• Medical terminology
• Patient assessment and history collection
Required Education:
• Graduate of an approved Ultrasound School
• 2 years training in Allied Health/College
Required Certifications & Licensure:
• R.D.M.S. registered
• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
• ARDMS, Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Breast (BR) specialty or equivalent breast ultrasound credential
