Job Summary:
Competently performs complete echocardiographic studies integrating all cardiac echo imaging modalities and procedures necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data. Documents patient data and echo exam information completely and accurately utilizing the Echo Information Management System and other necessary computer applications.

Required Qualifications:
 

• Proven ability to work with co-workers, physicians, and all levels of healthcare professionals.
• Knowledge of cardiac pathophysiology, diagnostic procedures, and patient care procedures.
• One of the following educational qualifications is required:
  • Associate's degree
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited sonography program
• Required certifications and licensure:
  • ARDMS-Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or CCI-Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
  • BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications:
 

• One (1) year of cardiac experience and registry eligibility.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in adult and pediatric cardiac sonography, including transesophageal and stress echo.
• Experience with outreach services.

Additional Information:
 

• Added by manager: 3 years of experience.
• Proficient in scanning cardiac abnormalities, quick learning, adaptable, correctly document findings, ability to scan a full echo and report in 75 minutes.
• Experience in Adult TTE, inpatient and outpatient, emergency, comprehensive understanding of cardiac hemodynamics, PISA quantification, strain, simple pediatric indications (murmur, bicuspid AV, etc., 5 years old and older).
• Experience in Definity, Optison, and bubble studies (agitated saline).
