Job Summary:
The Nuclear Radiology Specialist is responsible for performing high-quality routine and specialized nuclear radiology procedures as requested by licensed independent practitioners for interpretation by radiologists. This role integrates scientific knowledge, technical skills, patient interaction, and compassionate care to produce diagnostic information while recognizing patient conditions essential for successful procedure completion. The Specialist must have a detailed understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. They are required to maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure techniques, ensure radiation safety and protection for themselves, patients, and others, and prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications in accordance with state regulations and institutional policies.

Required Qualifications:
- Technical diploma and graduation from a formal diagnostic radiology program.
- CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (Texas Medical Board).
- CNMT - Certified Nuclear Medical Technologist (NMTCB) or N-ARRT - ARRT Registered Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
- Minimum of 3 years of radiology experience in any or all modalities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pediatric experience.
Additional Information:
- Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Skills required: IVs, quality control.
- Knowledge of nuclear radiology physics and procedures appropriate for ages 0 to adulthood.
- Operation and troubleshooting of required equipment, including automated processors, copying/digitizing film equipment, R.I.S., and PACS.
- Basic life support and medical terminology understanding.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to independently scan patients following established protocols.
