Job Summary: The Histology Tech is responsible for validating specimen identification, processing specimens, embedding tissues, performing routine and special staining procedures, and assisting with various laboratory tasks. The role requires prioritizing workload according to established protocols and ensuring high-quality results within specified turnaround times. The position also involves troubleshooting problems and performing inquiry functions related to technical, specimen number, and results.

Required Qualifications:

• Registered Histotechnician HT(ASCP) or Histotechnologist HTL(ASCP).
• HT-ASCP - Cert-Histotechnician or HTL-ASCP - Cert-Histotechnologist.
• Associate's Degree in Science or Histology.
• Minimum of two years of paid experience, preferably in a hospital or reference lab.
• Excellent embedding and cutting skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with special stains, frozen sections, and non-gyn cytology processing.
• Knowledge of hospital and laboratory operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively and exhibit sound independent judgment.
• Basic knowledge of computer functions and working knowledge of special stains and paraffin tissue sectioning.
• Ability to operate tissue processors, stainers, embedding units, cryostats, microscopes, and centrifuges at a basic level.

Additional Information:

• Shift: Day (8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday).
