RN Blood Cancer -Oncology

Job Summary and Qualifications

Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Texas Nursing Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for oncology patients with emphasis on blood cancer and disorders.


What qualifications you will need:

· Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing  

Current RN license in the State of Texas or compact license

· Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS 

· Effective 10/01/23, American Heart Association or American Red Cross ACLS required within six months of hire or transfer 

· Effective 10/01/23, ONS Chemotherapy biotherapy certificate course required within 60 days of hire or transfer

    · If hired after 6/1/12, BSN required within 24 months of hire into RN position. 

    · Strong communication skills in both oral and written format. 

    · Flexibility to intervene on a moment’s notice.

     · Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance from team members when necessary. 

    · Ability to cope with death and dying.
