Job Summary and Qualifications 

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Pre-Op for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • The Nurse in the Same Day Surgery Unit is responsible for the provision of safe and effective care of the perioperative patient in the pre-operative and post-operative phase.
  • The employee proactively works toward and achieves goals set in the previous evaluation period and assumes responsibility for the efficient management of patients admitted to the Same Day Surgery Unit.
  • Performs pre-operative, pre-procedure assessments of patients immediately prior to planned intervention.
  • Plans, coordinates, and provides, nursing care according to individual patient care needs.

What qualifications you will need:

  •  Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
  •  Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse required.
  •  2 years medical surgical experience, with preference for post anesthesia care experience
  •  American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support course (BLS or BCLS) and certification is required.
  •  American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support course (ALS or ACLS) and certification is required.
  •  American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support course (PLS or PCLS) and certification is required.
